Holden Beach- Here we come!

We have officially joined the world of blogging. We won't waste any time before updating you on our lives. Summer is in full swing at our house. My last day of school with the kids was June 10th. I had a few work days and then we were off to the beach for our annual Holden Beach trip. Jacob was more than ready for a break since he hadn't had a vacation since Christmas and he had survived another tax season. They definitely aren't getting any easier!
Anyways, we had planned to arrive at Mommie Ellie's beach house on Friday, June 19th and stay until Sunday, June 27th. It is very handy having a family member that owns a beach place... it sure cuts down on the overall cost of the trip. We met my mom, dad, and brother down there. Briana joined us for the last weekend. We spent many days lounging on the beach soaking up some sun and enjoying our latest books. We also spent several days fishing. Jacob caught a flounder and a toadfish (I think that is what it is called.. the really ugly one?). I caught a tiny pin fish and I had a whopper on my line when Jacob and my mom decided to step in and it got away. Oh well, it makes for a good fishing story. :-) We also enjoyed ice cream from Fantasy Isle... Jacob and I found a new favorite- New Orleans Paline Pecan- yummmmmm.

We were sad to leave the beach but we were also happy to be coming home. Like the old saying goes.. "There's no place like home" and as I like to say "There's no bed like your own!"
We're counting down the days until our trip to Jamaica but until then... it's back to the grind for Jacob and well, lazy summer days ahead for me!
Until next time...
